Lancaster County Chooses Love: Digital Home for Community

Helping a grassroots LGBTQ+ movement reach its community

Project Snapshot

Lancaster County Chooses Love (formerly Lititz Chooses Love), a volunteer led LGBTQ+ resource and outreach group was already making an impact through in person events and support services in Lancaster County. But they needed an online space where their mission of inclusion and belonging could reach more people. With signature events like Lititz Pride and National Coming Out Day, plus community resources like a gender inclusive clothing closet and low barrier food pantry, they wanted a website that reflected the heart of their work.

Discovery Rooted in Safety and Story

As we dug in, we uncovered two core goals: make the site safe and welcoming for anyone navigating it, and amplify the faces and stories of the community. Lancaster County Chooses Love isn’t a faceless organization it’s a network of real people showing up for one another. We helped clarify the brand voice to reflect openness, joy, and safety, and made sure practical needs, like a quick exit button for users facing unsafe situations, were built right into the design.

Building a Platform That Feels Like Home

I led the creative strategy and collaborated with our designer and copywriter to build a website that served as both a vibrant event hub and a practical resource center. We highlighted the organization’s two major annual events, created easy pathways to their food pantry and clothing closet, and built a business directory for LGBTQ+ affirming spaces. Every page reflected the organization’s grassroots spirit: colorful, welcoming, and personal.

The Impact

Lancaster County Chooses Love now has a unified digital home that mirrors its work on the ground:

  • The events calendar and resource pages keep the community connected to what’s happening and what’s available.

  • Visitors easily find affirming spaces and get involved.

  • The site’s visual identity reflects joy and celebration, while the structure makes the community’s offerings accessible and safe for all.

Most importantly, the site bridges the gap between local action and digital connection—extending the reach of this grassroots movement beyond the streets of Lititz and into Lancaster County as a whole.

What They Said

Working with Dana was incredible—she brought our vision to life. Dana and her team took the time to understand our mission, values, and the heart of our work. The final site was more impactful than we ever imagined! - Laura Sabatini, LCL

Closing Thought

When grassroots work meets a digital platform, community becomes visible—and belonging becomes possible.
